A few of my favorite places - Southern OR Coast edition

I’m going to keep this blog short and sweet! Here are some of my favorite establishments, outdoor locations, and community events from Coos Bay all the way down to Brookings:

Coos Bay-Charleston:

  • Persephone Cafe and Bakery: The sweetest owner. He puts love and care into everything he makes and serves his guests. The best organic and local ingredients are used. This is my all time favorite coffee shop/cafe on the southern Oregon coast!

  • Coos Head Food Co-op: Great selection of local food + more. Fun fact: I made and donated a little free library to this Co-Op. It makes me happy to see it filled with books every time I stop by!

  • 7 Devils Brewery: Good vibes, need I say more?

  • Tokyo Bistro: My favorite stop for sushi.

  • So It Goes: My favorite coffee shop in Coos Bay. The owners are kind and very involved with the community.

  • Wild Coast Running Company: Great selection of shoes + gear.

  • Mingus Park Swimming Pool: Lap swim + open swim - check them out!

  • Whiskey Run trails: Mountain biking! Lush green scenery + loamy trails located in between Coos Bay and Bandon. So much fun! Rent a bike in Coos Bay or Bandon if you don’t have one?

  • Coos Bay Farmers Market: Open during the summer season! Central Ave in Coos Bay on Wednesdays.

    Bandon-Langlois:

  • Bandon Dunes Golf Resort: Miles and miles of beautiful hiking, walking trails, and world renowned golfing. Best months to visit (in my opinion): August - October. My favorite restaurants on site: Ghost Tree Grill (favorite upscale dining on property), Pacific Grill (for lunch with a view), McKees Pub.

  • Warehouse Coffee Cafe: Favorite coffee shop in Bandon!

  • Farm & Sea: Favorite stop for fresh, locally caught seafood.

  • Coastal Mist: An artisan chocolate shop. If you need a chocolate fix, stop by.

  • Bandon Rain: Locally made ciders… yum!

  • Circles in the sand: I appreciate their dedication to community & art

  • The Loft on 2nd: I love the owner. If you want to shop for a new outfit while you’re in Bandon, head in there!

  • Bowman Bogs Cranberry Tours: Get the Bandon experience and tour a bog or watch the farmer harvest cranberries in October. Did you know that Bandon is the cranberry capital of Oregon?

  • Facerock / Coquille Point : Favorite beaches.

  • Floras lake: World renowned kite boarding and wind surfing

  • Langlois Market: “World Famous” hot dogs and sandwiches

  • Dragonfly Farm and Nursery: A beautiful setting. Plants to shop + events and music depending on when you stop by.

  • Southern Oregon Artisan Market: A destination pop up event located at the Langlois Cheese Factory Event Venue. I am the host of this event and I’m very proud of the community we’ve all created!

    Port Orford-Brookings:

  • Cape Blanco

  • Blacklock Point

  • Old Oregon Coast Trail

  • Humbug

  • Coast Guard Hill

  • Secret Beach

  • Indian Sands

  • Octopus Herb Garden Apothecary: Good friends own this sweet little apothecary! It is filled with ALL my favorite products!

  • Port Orford Food Co-op

  • Redfish: Fine dining, great drinks, and a fabulous view!

  • Cafe Gemma: Good vibes, good people, good food!

  • If you’re on the south coast for the 4th of July … Port Orford is the town you want to be in!

  • South Coast Tours: Kayak tours etc. I booked a whale watching tour for my grandpas birthday and that was awesome! I’ve also done group kayaking tours.

Enjoy! I encourage you to explore the wild and scenic Oregon coast!
